Image Replacement techniques have sometimes proved problematical in the past because they either wouldn't work well with Text Readers or would leave nothing in their place with images switched off but CSS still on.
Here are a couple of methods which should work for Text Readers plus will leave the text visible if Images are switched off but CSS left on.
