would changing index.htm to index.html affect spiders? - 8/31/2005 6:31:42
Hi,

Ever since my hosting company ran into the "cPanel FrontPage" issue (see http://www.frontpagewebmaster.com/m-284104/tm.htm ) I have major problems.

The index.htm files are changed by the server to index.html (or duplicayed so I have two index files) and ever since some of the search engines don't show up anymore (especially Googlebot and MSNbot).

Will they come back or is there anything I can do from my end to have them come back?

Please help!
Thank you
Spooky

If you are linking to the default page of your web, you shouldnt specify the name (in case it changes)

Always use the link www-yoursite-com/ and then the default page name is irrelevant
