"Change Page" Listings - 8/31/2005 12:33:42
Does anyone here have suggestions for how to handle "changed page" listings? I have a particular user group requesting just such a page. I showed them the reports coming out of FP2003 which lists pages/items changed within a certain date parameter. Nope. They don't like it. The want something like they were used to seeing with hardcopy user manuals...a change page that specifically identifes what has changed since the last update. A server-side application would be best for me (as long as it doesn't require FP extensions - that's a no-no per my admins and user group). However, if there's something I could use for my development team on the client side, then at least we'd have an option. MANUAL is the worst-case scenario...we have over 800 pages in this sucker and wouldn't want to have to comb them weekly (out publishing schedule is weekly). We tried to develop the website using Visual SourceSafe as the source-control tool, but it just didn't work right so we abandoned that a long time ago. Hence, I can't even execute diff-listings out of that tool. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks! Mike

Hi Spooky! I'm a little confused by all of that. I suspect the data returned by those functions are a bit too "technical" for my use community. As an aside, do you know if it's possible to do "track changes" in FP2003 (kind of like the function in Word)? Thanks! Mike
