Hi Umair,

On first glance it looks very neat and tidy and I like the colour scheme. But.....

Where is the business name? To me at least it looks as if something is seriously missing from the top of the page, how are people to know what the business name is?

I'm also not a fan of justified text, and in this case the text on the right just looks too odd. That text on the right also needs some padding.

Nicole

There's nothing in the banner to tell me who's site i'm on, it just says "Information Technology made easy....."

It's generally very pretty.

Only a couple of suggestions.

As you don't have a complete DOCTYPE your site is operating in Quirks Mode which may or may not cause problems for you. I'd suggest getting the full version:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"

You've used fixed font-sizing which means your text can't be enlarged in IE which is an accessibility no-no. Try switching to a relative font-sizing scheme.

You're dropdown menu list doesn't allow people using a keyboard to use it properly - although you do provide an alternative way round it would be better if you could use a "Go" button instead of "onchange" in the menu.

When the screen is resized down to 800x 600 in FF the curved edge next to "Current Location" comes apart from the top of the main content area. This happens when the horizontal menu wraps. The easiest way to stop this would be to ensure that the menu stays on one line at 800x600 (effectively 760px). It will still cause the gap below that size though.

You should also add <label> tags to your form labels to make them more accessible.

What you really need is to add someone with XHTML and CSS in their skillset to your portfolio :)

Generally very lovely :) though I'd agree with the comments above, especially the justified text - that spoils an otherwise really nice page.

Accessibily was not in mind while designing these sites but I believe they work good on all browsers.
Any one who can check them with safari, FF and opera?

It's not accessibility with regards to cross-browser - it's with regards to access to the site by people using a keyboard instead of a mouse in IE for instance or people using a text reader.

Accessibility really should have been in mind when designing any business site these days.

Far as Firefox goes - I've mentioned the scrollbars and the gap that appears in the earlier post.

Yes I agree that accessibility is must BUT when you think about good sales and an impression on client you need flash logos and such kind of stuff. I believe we have done some thing for accessibility not to much but something.......................... Don’t you think???

Accessible sites doesn't = boring sites - you can still have images etc. (just make sure you use alt tags) and I believe there are even ways of making flash more accessible.

Your www.affordablestaff.com site for example fails WCAG Priority 1 on lack of alt tags. It's relatively easy to make your site accessible to Priority 1, making it acessible to people with visual impairments. W3 Compliant Sites demonstrates how you can have compliant and accessible sites that are still visually appealing and innovative.

Excellent pick-up Spitfire!

I very rarely respond to site critiques when the site already looks quite good, and combined with that if it's their first post at these forums.

But this time he had 46 posts already and 3 sites for critique? I guess he got me!

Nicole

p.s.

Loved the thread on that other forum where he responded to himself, seeming ever so grateful for himself posting a helpful link.:)

oh well guys, looks like a misunderstanding here. This is not an effort to drum up business but really an effort to get feedback from experienced web designers for our sites. Reason? simply because we believe that if our sites are perfect we will catch up more business specially because even window shopper will come back or would want to stay long on the site and might eventually think to buy some service from us.

All the suggestions on this forum and on others have teached us a lot.

Keep 'em coming ... :)
