Grover -> 2 questions: text/bckgnd color, & linking halfway down page... (9/1/2005 15:32:17)

Hi, tried searching, but couldn't quite find the answers...

2 questions:

1. Text and background being the same color... I don't know if this is frowned upon or considered taboo, but I'm not some porn webmaster, nor spamming with inaccurate information, etc. I'd just like to be able to put in relevent info, w/o bombarding the viewer with too much text... And I'd always put this sort of text at the bottom of my page, anyhow.

NOW THEN, how close does the text have to be to the background color so as to be identified as 'spam?' And does this also apply to the color of the background wallpaper pic? (in other words, can I just slightly change the hexidecimal color just enough so as to NOT be considered spam?) Has anyone read the search engine code, and know exactly what it looks for, and how?

Question 2: How can I link to, say, halfway down one of my pages? (without using frames) I could've swore there used to be code for this, but can't remember it.

THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE!!![:)]

EG

1. just make sure they are different HTML color numbers...

You can make your page background #ffffff and text #fffffe, for example... and you should be golden.

2. You need a "bookmark" link... if you're using FP it's Insert > Bookmark (first highlight what you want to be the target of the link) then you can link to that bookmark from anywhere on the page.

Hey, THANKS![:D]

This URL is a new site for a short film I recently finished... The 'pics' page links halfway down (using the bookmark tag)

http://www.ericgrove.com/Noah_the_fittest.htm

You'll also notice the 'slightly discolored' text, LOL!

thanks again!
