airattack111 -> Review my template (9/1/2005 23:23:21)

I'm getting this template up on the website friday night. I still need to see if their is anymore bugs. If you guys see any please let me know but I think most are fixed.

I'd also like a review. I took some things into consideration last time I had you guys review my site such as the doctype "added, hope I did it right", text size "fixed", and a few others.

Heres the standard site "DO NOT WANT THIS REVIEWED :)"www.kfx400hq.com

Heres what is going up tommorow and I would like you guys to review it thanks:).

Still can't get through on either FF or IE

Nicole -> RE: Review my template (9/2/2005 4:09:10)

It looks really good,, even If I can't understand the heading!

It's very dependent on images though, so I'm wondering how it fairs on a dial-up connection?

Looks good. Nice clean layout. Just a few minor niggles.

You mentioned you'd had some bugs with it. You haven't got a doctype in there (I'll say it as Tailslide can't get to the site [;)]), and that could be contributing to that. Personally I'd ditch the two animated areas. They're not easy to read and very distracting with them constantly moving. I find that particular font not clear at all.

On your gallery page you could consider having the thumbnails open in the same page this recent thread came up with a number of ways you could do that.

Your html does not validate either, this also plays a part in rendering on browsers (even IE[;)]); the errors are chiefly of the proprietry code type and can be fixed by altering the html to comply. If you work in design view in html editors you do tend to get this.
W3c validator

I can't give a speed test because I am on broadband and it was fine for me, however it is very image slice intenstive. Fx handles it well though.

Thanks for the comments, but I think some of you are looking at the wrong template. I shouldn't have put up to different links.

Like the 2 animations are on the old site, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Here's the one I want reviewed. It has a doctype.

That's what I want reviewed :) The Other link was just
whats up now you guys reviewed it a long time ago :)

Once again sorry for not making meself clear.

caz ill look into the wc3 thing, but I want to make sure you talking about the right link.

That's the one.

But I do like the overall greeny/greyness of the page; good colours.

Yep that's the one :)

Thanks for the link I'm reading through it right now, and fixing the stuff.

Nicolez I had 2 people test it on dial up and they said it was pretty fast. I also downlaoded a speed tester and somehow it loads quicker than the old template. I thought it would be really slow for a dial up user also with the 4 .jpg rollovers in the middle but it turned out pretty fair.

rubyaim -> RE: Review my template (9/2/2005 21:32:51)

Hi, it looks very nice - my son would love the pics! [:)]

It's quite slow on dialup though ... took quite some time to load. Am generally connected from home at 45.2 Kbps. Mind you, there are slower loading sites around.

Thanks a bunch[:)]

I'm sorry about load time [:(]

Every site I make I seem too get it to go a little faster each time haha. I will be replacing the middle section of pictures each month though because of contest winners, so next month I'll lower the quality of the jpg's a little bit so it can load faster far you guys.

womble -> RE: Review my template (9/3/2005 13:04:46)

Goods good! My only minor niggle that the, um, whatever it is (can't make it out) at the bottom of the page between the photo on the left and the box on the right could do with centring in that space, but otherwise looking excellent! [:)]

caz -> RE: Review my template (9/4/2005 21:53:49)

Just a suggestion, but why don't you use the Web Developer extension for Firefox and let HTML Tidy er, tidy your code? You can copy and paste the cleaned up version and cut your development time down. You'll also learn something from the code changes, I know that I do. [;)]
