Cannot Open Site - FP2003 - 9/3/2005 9:02:11
Large corporate XP Prof domain just converted to Active Directory. After conversion, I can no longer open my website hosted on Server 2003 IIS6 boxes. I use 2002 Server Extensions. I get error message "The following folder Folder_Path isn't accessible. The folder may be located in an unavailable location, protected with a password, or the filename contains a / or a \".

This error only occurs on my computer. I can go to other computers with same FP2003 and open and edit the wedsite. Since other computers can access and edit the website without error, I think website and extensions are OK. Has to be something with my box??? I uninstalled and reinstalled FP and still getting error. I am Admin of website and in Admin group on servers and workstations.

Is your workstation a member of the domain?

You may need to add your account to the website.

If your workstation is not a member of the domain, but the workstations where it works are, then the server is not accepting the credentials from your workstation.

Try authenticating with domain credentials.
domain\user
password

Instead of
workstation\user
password

I tend to agree that the extensions are probably installed correctly.

Make sure the admin group is given access to the sites and not just certain users.

Possibly, terminal into the server and remove and add yourself back to the website with the extension manager. Recalculate the web between each step.

When you add yourself back to the web, be sure to use the credentials you use on the domain whether that be user or domain\user.

If the dc is using a domain policy, No acccess without explicit rights, your user must have log on local rights in order to authenticate.

Please let us know of any progress as I am interested in the outcome of what you find does the trick.

If Ricks suggestion doesnt work, a fall back position is to use "Open Web" by www.jimcoaddins.com
