Will we all be happy if these fixes are implemented in IE7? Yes. Should we fall over ourselves thanking MS for doing this? No. They're chiefly talking about (mostly) supporting CSS2 which was released in 1998 - 2 years before IE6 - this isn't new stuff. Most of the other Browser manufacturers are working towards CSS3 (most already partially support it). Edit: One thing though - I find it very encouraging that someone at MS is finally thinking about what might happen if they didn't get rid of the * selector in IE7 while sorting out most of the other stuff. It would have been very very ugly.
