FTP Problem - any ideas? - 9/4/2005 7:20:56
I can't ftp into my sites! I have tried using AceFTP3, SmartFTP, FP2003 & IE6. My host says they have recently set up a firewall on the server but so long as I use 'active' mode I shouldn't have any problem. They have tested the ftp connection and say they got in without any problem. I've tried switching off my own firewall and still no luck. The only other thing I can think of is that I've recently home-networked two PCs (by cable - peer2peer - no routers) - could this cause a problem with ftp? All other Internet activities are fine. Help/ideas appreciated EDIT: Have just managed to connect using SmartFTP - I'd much prefer to use AceFTP and FP2003 for the job but can't seem to find any settings that allow me to choose 'active mode' specifically in these(?)
