hzarabet -> Very basic subweb questions (7/25/2001 15:07:00)

Hi All:

I have never used subwebs before. I did a search and can't find the EASY STUFF!

My website is www.signingshotline.com. If I setup a subweb called "subweb" would it appear as www.subweb.signingshotline.com?

If it did appear as such, could I setup its home page as a redirect page that automatically redirects into a database on the main web. Ex- Redirect to http:www.signingshotline.com/results.asp?promoter=subweb

Or would the subweb appear as http:www.signingshotine.com/subweb.htm and THEN redirect to the above link?

Thanks all.

Your subweb, when you upload it, you would upload to:
http://www.signingshotine.com/subweb
Treat it exactly like you would a normal web, it has to have its own home page etc etc, so you would redirect from the home page as per normal. Just remember links to and from your root web and sub web have to be absolute you cant use the relative urls.

Thank you.

So I guess my next question is...how do I get http://subweb.signingshotline.com?

You will probably need to have you host set that up for you.
