Dimmed Buttons in Outlook (Full Version)

Hi, I'm new here and hope this is the right place to ask my question.

I have a very strange problem. I can receive emails on Outlook, but my "reply" and "forward" buttons are dimmed, as well as things like "Tools/cutsomize" and "tools/options." I can't even cut and paste. Nothing happens when I click on the dimmed buttons. Is this some sort of weird security feature on Outlook? I didn't click on anything -- how do I fix this?? Even my computer-wiz husband is baffled. (And he's really annoyed with me, so if you can help you'll have my eternal gratitude! [:)] )

Well I'd try two things. First, if this is recent then see if you have a restore point to go back to.

If not, uninstall and re-install.

Good luck.

And if all that fails then download Thunderbird. It's free and I like it much more than OE. Won't import hotmail but handles gmail fine as well as all the other accounts I've tried.

Like jaybee said...uninstall and re-install [:)] Spend 10 min. uninstalling and re-installing...or 3 hours troubleshooting...
