FTP - 9/14/2005 17:17:09
I hope I am in the right forum, can someone give me a quick guidance on FTP. How it works? If someone has an FTP site, can I upload contact to them without having and FTP myself?

Thanks.

Can you clarify your question? Are you asking if you need permission to upload files?

"can I upload contact to them..."---???

sorry, I meant can I upload "content"

I have a domain name I can upload from, I need an interface to give me access to it and how to use it. I know very little about it and need a quick tutorial as I have to upload contents on a DVD to someone ASAP.

You'll need a ftp programme (there are various free and paid ones available, try a google search for 'ftp software' (or use the FTP facility in FP) and their ftp login details. You'll also need to know the ftp url, often ftp.domain.com or something like that. All the various ftp programs vary in the specifics, but often you can drag and drop files from your local machine to directories on the server once you're logged in, just like you do in Windows. Each program should have help files to help you find your way around.
