FrontPage 2000 & broken links - 9/15/2005 2:17:37
Have a webpage... http://www.channel1records.com/samples.htm that streams audio. A routine verification of links reported that the links to each stream were broken.

In spite of this, the streams can still be played, even on outside computers & browsers. Has anyone ever experienced this problem? Could it be that FP 2000 reports these links as broken when that is not the case?

Hope someone can provide some clues. Thanks!

I have taken a look at the page you posted.

There are not actual links to the streams as much as to the page that has the stream embedded in them. The stream itself is not an actual link, but embedded so I do believe Front Page will always show this as a broken link.

Are the links to the pages which contain the activex also shown as broken?

Hi Rick...thanks for answering and taking a look at the page.

your comment sounds logical and is propbably correct considering the page in question has experiened no ill effects.

And Yes, the Activex for each stream is reported as broken.
This is odd, since the activex urls are for the Microsoft MPlayer...and yet the player still responds. But as you say, the streams are "imbedded".
