Oznob -> Inter vs Intra nets (7/30/2001 20:34:00)

I have made alot of websites for the INTERNet and recently have been asked to create a site for an INTRANet.

QUESTION: Is there a big difference? Can I still just design my site the same way I would for the INTERNet -or- are there things that I must do differently ?

Any Help of Thoughts on this topic would be appreciated - Thanks in Advanace,
Oznob

Hi,

The main difference on Intra's VS. Inter's is, IMHO....

You actualy know your audience . What browser they use, what they are interested in, what the "standard" resolution is.

One thing I have found is use CSS. I find that where I work a manager can just stop by my cube and say "Brian, I do not like the font on our departments subweb". Without CSS you would now go into an editing frenzy to comply. With external CSS wham, bam, done . I find that without the old money hinderance that requests to "figure it out", "change that font style" or "Make the Header 1 slightly smaller" come much more readily.
