Hi all, Hope everyone doing well, and having fun... I am working on my company website and having problem with NN 4.75 program crashing (according to our customer).. Is there a way to write the webpage using FP2000 that will support NN at all. Now I had put the warning on the main page that the site is view best with IE.. But as they say, you can not force other people to use what you like... Especially when everyone has their own preference on the program they used..

Well, it did to someone that email me. And when I try to go to the site using NN it just sit there trying to load the page. No, I stop using hover bottons a while ago.. It seem to cost some problem with NN too.. I just have place the time on the site. IE Local time and I think the NN will not support that script.

http://www.idbinc.net But I had already took out the problem... I was trying to put in the local time javascript to the site.. And That is what prevented NN to load up correctly... Not unless there is another way of using the javascripts.. with NN

Not all JavaScript is cross browser compatible. If you are using one from a JS site, be sure it is marked for use for all browsers. My personal opinion on clocks...My computer already has one. Why do I need one on a site, too? Also, something is really hanging up the download time. On my dial-up it took about 3 minutes for your index page to load. That's wayyyyyy too long. Sandy's right about the JS and about the load time! I can't imagine anyone waiting that long for a page to load. On your page, there are 6 thumbnail images of new arrivals in July. However these thumbnails are not actually small files. They are the large files with the display properties changed in the image attributes. In other words an image that is maybe 800x600 pixels and 100k in file size is still a 100k file even if you alter the width and height to be 80x60. 100k is still 100k. You need to actually make a new image. Of the ones I looked at, one is 4k. The rest are 120k 99k 80k 90k and 45k. If you add these figures up and add in the numbers for all the other things on the page you have a huge download time. Thanks guys... I pretty much know about the graphics being big and there are a lot of graphics on the index page... But that is how my boss wanted at the time.. I am getting ready to re-do the index page to make it load faster.. So I wanted to fix the NN and IE problem at the same time.. Thank you again Nancy for a good appraise... I had a page that crashed NN 4.x too. It was one of those ones where you start to design it one way, think "nah!" and play around with tables and all sorts, so that by then end it had been modified too much. Basically, it was fulll of nested tables that had been "split into cells", had had rows and columns added and subtracted etc. When I realised what was happening, I redesigned it from scratch and now NN 4.x just displays it badly. Which I suppose is probably as good as one can get with that dog of a browser... clum1
