Willis1 Posts: 78 From: None Status: offline	All files are now read only? - 8/1/2001 15:11:00 I have recently been backing up all kinds of files on my computer (reformat) and all the files contained in my web (there are atleast 140 pages) have all become read only files. What the heck happened?...I fear having to right click on each file and remove the read me check mark one by one. This is a headache that im sure anyone would love to avoid. Any comments on why this happened in the first place? And is there an easy way to rectify this problem? (praying) Thanks for any help

Why? You most likely backed up your stuff to a CD. Always happens when you burn your stuff to CD.

How to fix? Well depends what O/S your running. NT, you will have to uncheck everyone. WIN2K will prompt for applying changes to all files and folders (Ideal Situation), and I believe WIN95, and 98 will be just like NT. If there's an easier way, I do not know of one off hand. Hope this helps.
