Mailloop 6.0 - 9/21/2005 13:26:41
Any feedback on Mailloop 6.0 Pro? I am particularly interested in knowing about any problems anyone has had with sending out messages and getting accused of spam, loosing email accounts, having domains shut down, etc? I am not using the program to spam, but just wanted to know if you have a list of 1,000 optins, can this crap STILL happen. Is there a way to protect yourself (your domain, email account). Just looking for some tips so I don't learn the hard way. thanks.

I used to use Mailloop 5 Pro and found it worked very well. No problems with the software at all.

You will have people accuse you of spam and it doesn't matter how many times they verify they want to be on your list. A certain segment of the population is just stupid, lazy or both.

Yes. I was accused of spam on a fairly regular basis from people who agreed to receive monthly emails from one of my sites.

Godaddy has been known to disable domains where someone files a spam report to Godaddy against a site where they are the registrar. It was first being reported around 1 1/2 years ago and most recently here:

and

Godaddy seems to hold all your sites hostage if a spam report is filed agains a single domain. They will release your sites for a fee of $199 per site, but that fee is negotiable.

From Godaddy's Spam Policy:

quote:

If Go Daddy determines that the services in question are being used in association with spam, Go Daddy will re-direct, suspend, or cancel any web site hosting, domain registration, email boxes or other applicable services for a period of no less than 2 days. The registrant or customer will be required to respond by email to Go Daddy stating that they will cease to send spam and/or have spam sent on their behalf. Go Daddy will require a non-refundable reactivation fee to be paid before the site, email boxes and/or services are reactivated.

For those interested in another internet warfare tool:

I forgot to add - I no longer send bulk email. It just became too risky even though the money was very good. It is much easier to spam the search engines.

Thanks. I was thinking of trying to have some of my customers use a program like Mailloop to manage their opt-in lists and charge a consulting fee to set it all up for them. Most lists will be less than a 1,000 subscribers.

If I am reading you right, then it is inevitable that you are going to get into trouble. Strategically, if I was to move forward with this idea, I'm wondering if I should get another domain name to put the customers Mailloop mail through. I also have a friend who owns an ISP, and he would be easier on me, for any complaints.

Finally, you said you dont send bulk mail anymore. Does this also mean you don't use your Mailloop anymore?

Your comments on my above strategy would be appreciated.

Correct. I gave it up.

I don't know about getting in trouble, but you *will* have people complain.

Personally, I wouldn't try and hide my actions as it only shows you thought you were doing something wrong.

thanks for your input.

If anyone elso here is using Mailloop right now, I'd appreciate any tips you can offer.

I will try it on my health foods business before setting it up for a client. Hopefully the learning curve is gentle.

BTW, you get to download two working copies of Mailloop for each purchase. I sold one to my customer, and donated one to me.

I use mailloop 6 and love it.

I have mine mainly for the autoresponders. If some one purchases one of my scripts they get an email the next day asking if they have problems. Then about a week or two later it emails them just to double check everything is still working as expected.
