Review, please dogcatec.com - 9/23/2005 4:22:29
Soon we are going to open a new store selling pet supplies, veterinary supplies and vaccines, pet medications etc. We tried to make a proper design for this store, something close to veterinary subjects and at the same time unique and attractive.

Could you, please, review it before we open a store? It’s http://www.dogcatetc.com/

Nice site. Everythings there, neat, quick loading.

A lot of coding errors though 33 in fact, 173 warnings and 883 access warnings too.

Hi

My initial thoughs are that the opening page has too much content. It almost overpowered me with all the products and links you have inserted. I understand your reason for this but your customers may be overwhelmed. You may wish to consider reducing the content of the opening page.

I do like your banner. Colourful and appropriate.

Your welcome statement is tucked away and would have though that this should be more prominent on the page

There are many coding errors and warnings when I checked with Tidy and they may cause problems for your customers.

It loaded quickly for me as I use broadband but you may have an issue with customers using dial-up.

Hope this is helpful to you and the very best of luck in your venture

Hi

I love the banner - really "hits" you when the page opens.

I agree with the comments about there being a lot of information - I think it would be easier to read if everything had a little more space - maybe increase the padding?

You've used a fixed font size which means that people using IE can't increase the text size (people using decent browsers can) which could be important as some of the text is really quite small. Also I'd definitely increase the line-height - try 160% - that should space the text out a bit more.

I'm also getting a Javascript warning on the page so you might well have a problem with one of your scripts.

very nice site - a little busy but i think if i was a regular user it would be fine and not too busy to put me off at the beginning

YEP... I also thought WOW when the first page loaded, really good looking site and a lot of products too....

Your 'sign up for the newsletter' form works fine by the way.

It might be a bit early to ask you about this and maybe I should PM you instead but.... Do you have anything in mind with regard to affiliates/referrals...

THIS IS ME (ongoing, self taught, thanks)

Your "Add to Favorites" script doesn't work in Firefox. Between 10 to 20% of your visitors will be using Firefox.

There are scripts which work in both IE and FF.

I concur with the comments above about the busy-ness of the page. It is overwhelming.

I also don't like the yellow and red of the Search cell. It seems anomalous to the blue & green theme.
