ryandowney@mac.com -> USB Issues (9/26/2005 20:23:37)

My wife is running Windows XP with SP 2.0 on a fujitsu lifebook notebook computer. She has an unusal USB issue. She has the following perihperals connected: Microsoft Wireless Mouse, smartdisk crossfire USB drive, epson flatbed scanner, HP 7550 Photo Printer, Targus Bluetooth adapter, third gen 5GB iPod, two USB bus powered hubs Whenever the laptop is shutdown, peripherals disconnected, and later reconnected and the notebook powered up, XP has to go through every device and remap to the installed drivers. This takes a significant amount of time and doesn't make sense. I considered that the USB root hub assignments may be changing therefore requiring remapping but why should this happen if the physical ports are not changing. Any ideas folks? Thanks in advance.
