Server problem with FrontPage - 9/27/2005 12:31:39
I am attempting to publish my website using FrontPage 2003. When I drag my files to the server, I am told that the file names for the template characters (banners/buttons I think are the only ones) are too long. I attempted to shorten the file names, but when I did that, the files were not recognized. (no surprise) Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

Publishing is not a Drag and Drop operation. To publish you click the "Publish" button or go to File-->Publish. Long filenames may also be a server type issue. Check in Tools-->Page Options-->Compatibility, make sure you have the correct server type set there.

After it is published, the same problem occurs when we try to upload it to the server.

After it is published, the same problem occurs when we try to upload it to the server. You need to publish it to the server. To accomplish this you will need the FP Server Extensions running on your server.
