Server problem with WebBot - 9/27/2005 23:17:19
Can't get my F/P generated guestbook to work. Error msg saying:"Cannot run the FrontPage Server Extensions on this page:.....(URL). It was working, but not now. I tried deleting the files, unsubscribing to F/P 2002, resubscribing to F/P, re-publishing the files, etc. to no avail. Would appreciate some help. Thanks!

BTW, the URL is http://springfield.bridge.home.insightbb.com/guestbook.htm. For some reason, you may have to copy and paste this URL into the browser. Anyway, the guestlog.htm file is in place, and is pointed to a POST statement, but it won't post to it. Thanks!

(Edit: fixed URL)

I see an instance of "file:///C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\User\My%20Documents\My%20Webs\testsite\news.htm" in your source code. Take a look at your page source code, and make sure you do not see this stuff. If you have any trouble trying to determine what means what, simply paste your code in here.

Place (code) at the beginning of your source code, and then (/code) at the end of your source code. Change the ( for [ when you do it.

Thanks! I have fixed them. Also, thanks for editting the URL.

Any ideas on my guestbook problem? I noted a similar problem in previous post by someone else, but it related to a form rather than an "POST" statement, and the fix was not relevant in my case.

Try this...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en;320872

Also, sometimes it is faster and easier to just delete the broken guestbook and create another one from scratch
