Locating FP Server Extensions - 9/29/2005 23:24:18
I am running Windows XP Media Edition SP2 and have installed / configured IIS.

I cannot locate FP Extensions in order to activate them.

I have looked in MMC / Services and Applications - not there.

I have read about Snap-ins for the MMC but have not found a way to add a Snap in (New, Add, Snap-in, etc. are not available within MMC).

Any ideas?

Thanks,
troyster

Welcome to OutFront. I think if you simply go to Microsoft's site and download the extensions, you should then just be able to run the executable and they will self-install. At least I don't remember having to do anything special.

Has anyone verified that IIS will run on media edition?

It may, I have never tried that myself as I always only use Pro.

I think so because the OS is still Windows XP pro.

Windows Xp Media Center = Windows Xp Pro With Addons

You need to install the FPSE via Add/Remove Windows Components panel. It's one of the "needed but we won't tell you that" options.

Just go into the details bit and ensure that FPSE are checked.
