Spooky

I double checked with my host, the directory has read/execute permissions and the script is almost identical to what you sent me (small variation in how the file name is handled)

But it's still not working.

I just emailed you a couple of links along with my password. If you get a minute, can you see what happens when you try to do it?

I'm wondering if it isn't a local problem on my machine...

Nope - I get this :

<@ Language=VBScript %>

 <font face="Arial" size=2>
<p>ADODB.Stream</font> <font face="Arial" size=2>error '800a0bba'</font>
<p>
<font face="Arial" size=2>File could not be opened.</font>
<p>
<font face="Arial" size=2>/ASTMdownload.asp</font><font face="Arial" size=2>, line 43</font>

I may go to a database solution. Will be better in the long run, but not as quick and dirty to set up as this would have been [:D]

Thanks for the help!

And Spooky Login looks great! It's a lot different than the first version I saw... looks so mature and grown up. *sniff* getting misty... [:(]

they grow up so fast...

Perhaps its also to do with antivirus / firewall they are running?
Theres some issue obviously with PDF's. You stated it worked with other files.
It does so with doc and xls as well?

bobby -> RE: ASP file download manager (10/7/2005 11:59:22)

I haven't tried with .xls

.doc, .zip, .jpg all work just dandy.

They won't give me any info on their firewall settings or any compression software they might be running... what do you expect from a free hosted site..? We're hosted by our telecom provider... web space is included and they support everything we've needed so far (just not streaming pdf's aparently)

Until we can get our own in-house server I'm going to use a database to pull it into a chromeless pop-up window. Unless I can figure out how to get this to work... [;)]
