d a v e -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/2/2005 5:05:19)

womble -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/2/2005 5:08:36)

[sm=boogie.gif] Nice find Tail!

golfer -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/2/2005 5:09:18)

Nice one Tailslide[:)]

Thanks. Will be useful to me.

Donkey -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/2/2005 9:51:04)

Very useful site. Well found Tail.

jeepless -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/2/2005 13:11:51)

Unfortunately that site crashes my copy of Firefox (v 1.06). Tried it 5 times with the same result. At least it works with IE (groan)

treetopsranch -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/2/2005 21:07:09)

That site does not render well in Netscape either. Seems to have a screen width problem. (Part of the left side is cut off)

d a v e -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/3/2005 0:01:38)

works fine for me ine firefox 1.07 at 1024 x 768

enrightd -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/6/2005 11:03:23)

Thanks Tailslide

Question:

Size = 1em

What is an "em"??

womble -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/6/2005 12:24:09)

It refers to the height of the character box for a given font and it's a relative font size, i.e. 1.2em is the same as 120%.

This link probably explains it better...[:D]

d a v e -> RE: Compare Screen Fonts (10/6/2005 12:32:53)

there's a bit more on ems and stuff here, if anyone's interested ;)

I read 3 paragraphs of Dave's article and quit.

I've read enough.
Don't need to know any more.

Thanks

It is nice to know that at my age it is not important to know everything in the world.
I don't care if I ever see another "em" again before I die.

Works fine with my installation of FF (v1.0.6)

Due to variety of extensions for Firefox available, some extensions could break some Typetester’s functions. Please do report troubles. If possible, provide a list of installed extensions.

Sounds like he'd appreciate a bug report.

I had a similar one bookmarked but this one is much better [:D]
