vision2000 -> Creating uniform images (10/3/2005 9:03:30)

Hi,

How can I make all the images look uniform (same dimensions) without losing their quality?

http://www.forthehorseofcourse.com/

Currently they are all different sizes so the page(s) appears unbalanced.

Thank you

er resize them proportionally to fit in area that is either the same width or height or both e.g. say to fit in an area of 300x200 pixels resize the image and then sharpen it (depends what image editing software you have...) and then say it fits in an area say 250x200 then just increase the canvas (background) to 300x200.
using the same size canvas will ensure that your images line up in a grid

Thanks alot - will this mean the images are still all different sizes but the background sizes are all the same.

If so, is there a fast way to do this with all images in one folder (as they are now) or will I need to do each image separately? (I use FWMX2004)

file > batch process > (add files) > scale > scale to fit area...

Thanks a lot!

oh yeah forgot to say...
 that if you also open an image and apply unsharp mask to it (filters > sharpen > unsharp mask) (NB you may want to open an actual picture in the very first step  to test the amount of unsharp mask you require after resizing it - maybe unsharp around 30-50% and pixel radius of about 2-4)

 then go to the frames and history panel and select the history panel and select the step (click once)

 then press the little disk icon bottom right of that panel ("save steps as a command") and name it suitably (e.g. 'unsharp mask')

 then close your pic (don't save changes!)

then when you batch process your pics after choosing fit to area choose from the commands in the batch dialogue (same main dialogue-window as 'scale' in the batch process) and find your filter command for unsharp mask

Maybe my post in this thread might help?
