quote:
I want to DNS the website myself Can you explain what you really want to do? Do you *really* want to run a DNS? If so, why? They are not necessary in 99.9% of situations. If so, can you explain your network situation some more? What are you using for a gateway / router, what and how many services you want to make available, etc. I run DNS services at our office but not because I want a web presence but because we have both internal and external services, intra- and extra- nets, etc. and hence require DNS to make everything happen. If you want to be able to use a name like www.mydomain.com instead of IP addresses, you don't need to run DNS services to do it. I do exactly that from my home network. I have my own domain name going to all of my own services running on my home server with no DNS necessary. The reason you can't find solutions out there is because there really aren't any. I don't know of any situations that you'd need to run DNS in a single machine environment. But if you state your case, we probably come up with a fix.
