How long did it take to get your pagerank up? I went to pagerank.net and it says one of my sites is at 2...it's been up for about 6 months. Do you think 2 is low for 6 months? Also it's a forum, does this make it harder to get a higher page rank?

PR is as much a red herring as it is an indication of the popularity of a site. Don't worry about it.

How is your traffic doing? Is it increasing?
How are your backlinks?
Is your content fresh and unique?
Are you tracking conversions?

I removed the Google toolbar a while back and life has been very good without it. Go ahead, give it a try. You may shake a little at first when your eye leaps to the spot on your browser where the sweet green number used to be - and it's not there. But, you'll get over it. Just like giving up crack, heroin and the $5 hooker - it's tough at first, but much better for you when it's over.

So checking your pagerank 5 times a day isn't normal??......I don't know if I can make it without that sweet green number...[X(] I'm only getting around 300 or so unique visitors a month. I have about 20 links to my site on other sites. I'm also making sure that questions are getting answered. Anyone have any other ideas to increases my hits?

LOL! Yes, that's normal - just like slowing down to view the results of an accident. Normal, but not necessary.

Without knowing your site it is tough to say exactly what you should do, but the basics are the same. 1 - Regularly get quality backlinks 2 - Add unique content on a regular basis 3 - Pay attention to fundamental SEO techniques.

Few tips; Always add Fresh content, you should follow W3C validators for clean coading guidelines, use css instead of color, size and font tags, add site map page and make sure you should have 404 page, you should always network your site for link development.
