FP 2003 Constantly ASking For Password - 10/11/2005 16:25:37
Hi I am relatively new to frontpage so I apologise if any of this sounds dumb! Ok I recently bought a copy of FP 2003 and ftp'd the site to my web hosting space. I then read that for an extra fee I could turn on Frontpage Extensions for my site. I therefore paid the money and tried to publish the site via the frontpage publish option. The problem is I just constantly keep being asked for a username and password and the password is not saved. I have not been able to connect. I cannot ftp anymore since FP extensions do not allow modifcation of existing files. I suspect that the web hosting company is using FP extensions 2000, but this shouldn't stop me connecting should it? I thought the versions just supported different features. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as my web hosting company have reset my password and restarted the extensions with no affect. THanks in advance.

You should contact your hosting company and tell them you cannot publish - it sounds like they did not set up the FPSE correctly.
With remembering the password - it is actually a registry hack that needs to be changed but it should be ok once you get the FPSE installed - you would just need to type in your password.
