Powerpoint publishing question - 10/14/2005 9:53:26
Our company does a lot of training schools with lots of powerpoint presentations. Many of these presentations have lots of speaker notes that would be useful to the student later on. We would like to publish these presentations, with the notes, in a format that will not allow any modifications. I know that the current version of PPT has password protection, but we have not advanced that far in our in-house versions (PPT 97). Other than purchasing the upgrade to 2003, what are our choices?
We tried created a PDF of speaker notes, but the end-result does not look very good. The slide itself is very small and if there are many notes they may not all print on the page.
Are there any programs out there that make this easier?
We've considered buying at least one version of PPT 2003, using it to protect the files, and then providing the 2003 viewer to anyone who needs to view the files (as earlier versions of PPT will not open password-protected files). But we heard from one of our PPT creators that newer versions of PPT may not have some of the features we currently use in PPT 97.
Any suggestions?

I have not done this with PPT, but with Acrobat 6 it says that you can convert a PPT presentation to a PDF presentation directly from PPT using PDFMaker within it. I assume that this is PPT 2003. All security settings will be transferred, but if that is not your case then you can put Adobe security on the pdf file instead.
You may have to adjust the pdf creation settings from the default to get exactly the representation of images/text that you want.
