Fading Links and publishing... - 10/15/2005 9:54:20
Hey! I'm new. I've have my website for nearly a year now just using notepad, but I recently aquired Frontpage.

I'm wondering if their's a way to make links fade on my homepage. I made 2 gifs that fade in and I'd like the link to as well. I'm wondering if that's possible. I know it'd probably be easier with Flash, but I'm not very savvy with Flash.

Also, I'm having trouble publishing my site. I have a premium membership with Freewebs and they say they support ftp, so I type my address in Frontpage when going to publish, do my login, and it says that it's unable to open my site because the extensions aren't installed.

I'm just wondering what to do. I'm willing to switch hosting as well since mine runs up in november. Is there hosting anyone recommends?

Thanks a lot!
caz

If you are using ftp to upload the you can't use FP Publish because that requires the Frontpage extensions to be applied on the server. (your host will have to do this).

You can use standalone ftp software to transfer your pages, or try the ftp way in FP2003. ( I haven't used that but have heard that it is not too good.) I have used WSFTP in the past, but there are others around.

You can get a lot of help using the Tutorials on this forum - see the blue bar at the top-
