how do you know if you've been banned? - 10/17/2005 9:28:05
Hi guys...

I have four different sites I'm setting up at the moment, one has been picked up by google, the others are not for some reason! Any advice?

The one that has been picked up was designed with a holding page AGES ago and that picked up the Coming Soon bit but now google displays the new text on the homepage (for Car Care 4 Us Girls dot com but for some reason it won't display stuff for any of the other sites...

Jigsaw Enterprises dot com is the main page of my company and the only listings for it are for expired domains from a while ago.... is this causing a problem with google?

Career Guidance Advice dot com is displayed (when you google the domain specifically) but doesn't display ANY description!

Visit 2 dot com displays the info on the SEDO parking page from when I bought it as I thought it was going to be spidered later but Visit 2 Learn dot com hasn't even been looked at yet even though I submitted them at the same time.

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do to help these sites?

Thanks for any advice offered! :)

You need to get backlinks - other sites to link to your site. You should also add content. Those sites look more like templates than anything else. Duplicate content will also hurt your sites.

I am puzzled by your post - it almost seems to either be a joke or a spam attempt. I mean, you can't be serious??

Hi Mojo...

The sites are holding pages (except for Car Care) and I'm just seeing how the sites get spidered and what to do next ...

I am getting content in the background and getting ready to launch two of the sites (Career Guidance Advice & Visit 2) but they need to have conent finalised before the site goes live.

it was more out of curiosity why some of the sites which I had set up at the same time had been spidered and others hadn't.... I had this thing in the back of my mind that perhaps someone had done something with the domains before and gotten them onto a blacklist somewhere and what would I have to do to get them off when the sites are finished?

Why would it be a spam attempt?

If you were a new member I would have deleted the post thinking you were spamming your sites to OutFront. I know better, but it still *looks* that way. The sites you listed look just like scraper sites or template sites that I can build with the click of a button. Click - Bam! 100 pages of content.

I would get content on them ASAP. Empty, dead sites don't get visits from search bots very often.

Ah!

Apologies.... I thought you were saying I wanted spam!

they are templates, getting used to blasting the overall look and coding pretty quickly now so I'm getting them up and running together!

Did you have a look at the car care site? You have been designing webs a bit - any feedback? Any way to SEO it? Been submitting to directories like a lunatic to the extent that my eyes are falling out of my head now! :)

I was surprised, google spidered the car care site very quickly after I updated it and it was a dormant holding page for a good three months!

Thanks
Stephen

PS: Gonna remove the links in the original post so's not to encourage such behaviour! :)
