Mouse problem......Please help! - 10/20/2005 2:08:40
Hey ppl,

I am facing a very weird mouse problem. My left and right clicks are not functioning properly.

The left click is working as a right click while the right click is not responding altogether. Also, whenever i move the mouse over a series of folders all are getting selected even though i have not clicked.

I have gone to settings>>control panel>>mouse>>button configuration>>and the button 'switch primary and secondary buttons' is left unchecked....But still the problem is persisting even after restarting.

I am using MS XP....please help me as all my work is stuck up and i am not able to solve it.

Thanks in advance :-)

Switch your machine off, plug in another mouse and see if it still happens.

If doesn't, then the original mouse is not well. You can try taking the ball out and cleaning it as well as the rollers inside the casing.

If it does, then, if it's a branded mouse go to the manufacturer site and see if there are new drivers.

If no new drivers, try setting the mouse driver to the windows Generic one.

hey jaybee......thank u very much....ur last piece of advice worked. The problem was that my Logitech Mouse driver was corrupted.Due to this even if i was reinstalling the driver,it was still showin the same problems.

When i followed ur advice n switched the PS2 driver to windows generic one,the mouse began working absolutely fine.Once again had it not been for u,i may have called a hardware technician that would have cost me a great deal both in cash n time.I am truely delighted n a big thank u to u jaybee.

Keep it up!!!
cheers!!!
