form email results problem - 10/21/2005 12:29:20
hi, When I try to set my feedback page to email the results i get a dialog box that says: This form is being created ona disk based web or the fp server extensions have not been configured to send email. Ok, I have email runniing on my server with 9 different emaill addresses and have no problems there. The server extensions are running fine. I have recalculated them and resterted them and even reinstalled them. The dialog box also says I should the "server extension resouce kit" but the link it gives is invalid. I am using FP2002 on a win2003 web server. when i run the page from the site it gives me the folloing error page: FrontPage Run-Time Component Page You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server Extensions to function properly. This form or other FrontPage component will work correctly if you publish this web to a web server that has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed. Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page. any help would be appreciated. Also, I edit the site directly on the server, ie, the server in local in my office. also , this problem just arrived, it did work when i first published the site. thanks, ken

Ken, It sounds like FrontPage Server Extensions need to be re-installed. Can you link us to the website?

There does seem to be a problem with your FP Extensions. This is what displays on the page: [FrontPage Save Results Component] To me that's a dead giveaway that there is an issue with the FPX's. But it's been a while since I've done much DRW work....

what a day,, my feedback results still do not work via email!! I have completely reworked my entire site from scratch, I have updated my server extensions and all seems to be back to normal with teh obvious exception of my feedback results. I'm not sure where togo from here, so I'll just remove that link for now. If there are any other suggestions please let me know. thanks, ken

Redesign the form on a fresh page and do not save the page until you have everything in and about the form ready. That would do.

The "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page" message appearing on the live site is a certain indication the extensions are missing or corrupt. Honestly I didn't see a link for the form page. If you used FTP, to transfer/publish the form page, this would corrupt the extensions and display the "FrontPage Save Results Component"
