folder permissions - 10/25/2005 12:35:50
Im taking over an existing site in order to upgrade it to a shopping cart. the prior web designer hasnt been cooperative about transferring the doman name or the dns so I can place it in my hosting environment so I have given up and will just build it where they were hosting. however, while she gave me the password for ftp and i looked at the site thru ftp, i didnt see a db folder. I asked and her response was:
quote:
cgi-bin is a non-browsable folder where you can administer the file permissions
. the folder cgi-bin is empty. any suggestions as to what she means? In my hosting environment, my host established folder permissions etc for me so I am a rookie here.thanks

A lot of hosts put the DB folder above the root. I'd peruse any help files the host has to offer regarding databases.
