Server 2003, Frontpage pages not updating - 10/25/2005 16:10:18
Forgive me if this gets long, but I have been fighting this issue for months now, and have been unable to find anyone that can help me.
My basic problem is that I can open my web site live in Frontpage, make a small change, save the page, and then refresh that page in my web browser, and the change is not visible. I can then make a large change, save the page and then refresh my browser, and the change is visible.
For instance if my page says "Hello World" and I change it slightly to say "Hello Earth" and save, the web site page will still display "Hello World".
However, if I make a larger change so reads "Hello Earth, How are you today?" and save, the web site page will correctly display the entire longer string.
My Setup:
I have 2 servers, each hosting 10-40 sites. Server #1 has Windows 2000 Server loaded on it. I do not have this problem on any of the sites on Server #1. Server #2 has Windows 2003 Server loaded on it. I have this problem with most of the sites on Server #2
I can fix the problem temporarily by recalculating the Frontpage server extentions for the web site I am trying to work on. However, the problem will re-appear anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 weeks later.
Any ideas of what the problem might be?

Some hosting companies have a setting that prevents live websites from showing automatically. They are using a cache & this may be the problem
