cyberdread -> very simple css validation question (10/29/2005 7:09:09)

I am about to try and validate my css for the first time, I do not understand the settings. I am guessing I should select all -warnings to get the best feedback, but I do not understand the profile option.
There are several settings including css1, css2, css3, tv, svg and mobile. How do I know which one to choose?
thanks
Nick

Where are you trying to validate it? It's the W3C CSS Validator you should use. Either enter the URL in the box, upload a css file to the validator, or copy and paste your css into the direct input box. It's as simple as that.

are you using the W3C validator or one in topstyle or another one??? this is the best one to test against and if you have mozilla firefox browser you can check with the web developer toolbar (if you have it installed)

otherwise then assuming you are targeting modern browsers for screen use then check against css2

I was using some other weird ones I cant remember, I found the w3c one and it works fine for me thanks anyway.

Glad you've sorted it. [:)]

I used to occasionally use the one in Topstyle (which uses the W3C one anyway - but Topstyle's acting up at the moment [:o]), but these days tend to go through the FF web developer toolbar (which also uses the W3C one) as Dave suggested.
