Is it possible that a - 10/30/2005 14:47:05
Are there any files within the folder which FP creates when building a website, that could possible get corrupted and cause upload and server connection issues? I've transferred my "Web Folder" from my home PC to my work PC on a couple occasions so I could continue working on my website at home and at work. Both PC's run XP Pro and FP 2002. Is it possible that something within the web folder has gotten corrupted and that's what's causing all my headaches? BTW... My web pages looks and operates just fine on my local machine. What is the "Export" button for in FP? It's always grayed out on my machine... U.M.

Any file that uses or contains FrontPage Components can become corrupt upon publish or if you use FTP on the site. The only way the could become corrupt locally is either a bad sector on the HDD/CD/FD or someone has manually altered the files. Also, transferring across a network (wireless or wired) can cause corruption. The export button will only work when you go File>Open Web. It;s for exporting full FP webs to another location.
