Thunderbird and profile - 11/7/2005 12:52:38
I used to use Mozilla and would point my default user to c:\data\whatever so when an automated job would run all data gets backed up.

I started using Thunderbird this weekend and I will be darned if I can not find the user directory with all mail in it.

Where would that be located?

Thank you,

Brian

I'm not using Thunderbird, yet, but does this help?

:)

Someone else, on Win2K, states theirs is at:
\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\thunderbird\Profiles\(some random seq).default\Mail

<EDIT> Then I found this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_mail_storage_location_%28Thunderbird%29 </EDIT>

Took me a while to find it too.

Default install should put it

C:\Documents and Settings\Yourname\Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\6gnlfwzh.default\Mail

In Explorer you have to "show hidden files" and then you should be able to find it.

It's different depending on your OS... might try having a look here:

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder

(I just had to manually copy, save, paste after a total rebuild of a colleagues PC today... that link was still open in FF)
