Mike54 -> Haven't seen this before... *Solveded* (11/11/2005 12:06:12)

I have a user whose browser, for whatever reason, doesn't see formatting. Positioning seems right but it doesn't seem to see text format, background color, etc.

Anyone know where the switch is to turn this feature back on?[&:]

Is the browser keyed to a custom style sheet or something?

Which browser?

It's worth a shot, I'll check it out Monday.

Nope, everything is as it should be. Very frustrating...[:@]

Very strange... have you tried alternative browsers to see if you get the same result?

I'd have them check out Opera and FF just to see if they get the same thing. See if it's browser specific or PC related..?

jaybee -> RE: Haven't seen this before... (11/14/2005 10:35:53)

Is it just on your site or all of them?

Tools>Reset Web Settings?

Make him use Firefox. [:D]

If I log into the machine with my user ID the browser renders fine.

Any site visited, no background color, font size and color not formatted, just plain vanilla viewing.

It seems to be user specific more than anything else. I've been told NOT to install any other browsers than IE but hey, it's in the name of troubleshooting right?[;)]

Who told you that? And will they ever notice after you uninstall?

you didnt know that mike works in redmond?

bobby -> RE: Haven't seen this before... (11/14/2005 15:30:04)

if that's the case, try it on one of the G5 Macs in the new products dev. dept.

Now let's not get carried away Dan.[:D]
I'll be installing FF in the wee hours tomorrow, you know, just to check things out.[8D]

I think IE is a corporate control issue. For example, this AM everyone lost their LAN proxy settings while Emerson tried to get a 3rd party application to work.[:(]

Then the browser problem is no longer an issue!

Solved!

Next question?

Very close Dan, it's Start > Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display (tab) > uncheck "Use High Contrast". [:(][&:][;)][:D]
