Internal links and Google - 11/21/2005 1:06:02
I work for a large website. (About 4,500 pages) I wanted to track how well we were doing with our internal link strategies. I used the 'link:' functionality to check for a page (call this page1) that was deep within our site, and I knew only had one or two pages linking to it. It returned two results, but I subsequently found out that there are at least 3 internal pages linking to page1. I was initially concerned that Google was not spidering all of our pages hence the reason it couldn't find all the pages, but after checking, it was finding all of the pages that I knew had a link to page1. Is there any other reason why google would not list all the internal links linking to a particular page? Also is it possible to be able to manipulate the link: to only show pages from your domain? thanks mahipalreddy

The LINK command has been broke for a long time. It is utterly useless for anything to do with site quality. quote:
