I asked them to not touch the server, but. . . - 11/21/2005 17:42:37
My intranet site had been running smoothly for months. All I ask of the IT people is to not touch anything. Unfortunately, they don't listen. Anyone know what causes this dilemma: I can access my sites in FP without trouble if I use the DOS path, ie, machinename\wwwroot\mysite\. However, if I enter http://ourintranetname/mysite/ I get prompted for my NT credentials, which are then rejected and the site won't open.

Unfortunately, if I access the site as: machinename\wwwroot\mysite, the server properties feature is unavailable. I have a test page that writes the logon_user value and it still works, but no luck gaining access to the web via its http address.

Isn't anonymous access essentially the opposite of nt authenticated access? If so, this site has always been nt authenticated access.

What version of IIS do you run?
