Ok so I am some photoshop web templates that I like and I am considering using them on my webpage. ( I am in the process of totally revamping the site). I have NEVER used this program... How do I edit templates in photoshop (or is that too broad of a question) Thanks!

First answer..... do you actually have Photoshop to edit them in? If not then you'll need to get it and it's not cheap. You might be better off woth Paint Shop Pro which will open PSD files and costs a heck of a lot less. Second answer..........I suggest before you do anything else you get to grips with Photoshop and how it works so you don't screw up the template.
