star burst - 12/4/2005 12:27:40
Hello all -

i am looking for a starburst - but a specific kind. I haven't been able to make one or find one that I am allowed to use.

The kind i am looking for is the one that they use on adult sites to cover up private areas.. You know what im talking about??

Any help would be appreciated.

You mean like this?

You can do it pretty easily in PSP using the 'Pre-set shape tool' (that's one's the 'burst3' shape and I just changed the colour using flood fill). Other graphics programs probably have a similar tool.

<edit>There's variations on starburst shapes in there as well</edit>

Another way is to use MS word.

Insert > Symbol

Then check out the webdings range of fonts, select the starburst you want, increase the font size to 200 or so, then cut and paste it into your graphics program. Re-colour it to your requirements, rotate, resize, resample etc, then save as a gif or png with a transparent background.
