I am using FP2003 on WinXP, connecting to Server 2003 (on my lan) and occasionally get the following error when trying to save a document:
"An error occured while trying to access your windows sharepoint services site files. Authors - If authoring against a Web server, please contact the Webmaster for this servers website. Webmasters - Please see the servers application event log for more details."
I manage the 2003 server myself and it is a brand new installation. I installed 2003, did all windows patches, added file server, application server, Active Directory, and DNS. The only other software that is installed is Symantec Antivirus and PHP 4.4.1. I have even formatted the drive and reinstalled everything with the same result.
On my XP box I have FP2003 installed with the latest patches. I only occasionally get the above error, but very frequently, almost every time, I get very slow response to opening of or saving pages. Once finally saved, the pages seem to serve correctly from IIS to any browser.
I have done lots of google searching and searched the MS site but have found no reference to this problem. Has anyone else seen this or know of a fix?
