Video Streaming and E Commerce! - 9/20/2001 20:11:00
If I want to insert a video clip on my site would I just import the file and create a link to that file? What is the best option for E Commerce when using FrontPage, ie, Macromedia has a dedicated software does Microsoft? Many thanks as always for any help.

Usually video clips are just linked to the way you link to a Web page.http://www.storefront.net is a very powerful FP plugin for e-commerce. There's a bit of a learning curve with that product, however. There's an e-commerce solution that I promote called 1shoppingcart. It's not a FP plug-in, but it's extremely easy to set up and use. http://www.frontpagecommerce.com/shop/shopdisplaycategories.asp

Hi, I did a video for the Internet. It was a 15 minute video for Feeding Children International. I used Video Factory to put it in streaming format for the Internet. With Video Factory, I did a version for 28.8 modem, and one for 56K. The video file went from 156 mb down to 3-5 mb. Check to see if your web server can handle streaming video. If you link your video file without streaming it, people will have to download the file to their computer to play it.
