Looking for some advice - 12/7/2005 10:40:05
I'm about to start working on a new site all about like computer networking and security stuff. I know I will have a lot of articles when I'm all done. I'm looking for some advice on how I should lay this whole thing out. I really don't like the look of Content Management programs....it seems like everyone is using one. But I’m thinking I might need one of some sort. Do you think I should use a database of some sort to hold all my articles? Or should I just write them all in the html page. I look at a list apart website and that almost looks like a blog. But I like how they have laid out the articles. Well I’m looking for any advice you can give me. :)

www.alistapart.com is probably managed using blog software - it looks like a custom Wordpress template.

I find using Wordpress as a CMS works very well for adding quick content to sites. Heh, you can even email your new pages and the software will automatically upload them to the site.

With websites these days, if you can start from a database, you should.

Take a look at WordPress.

Edit, looks like Joe beat me to it :)
