Forms Problem... - 12/8/2005 10:11:38
Hello. I'm new here; just stumbled on this site really...

I need to know more about forms and frontpage 2003. I maintain a number of websites, some with Frontpage extensions. The one I'm having trouble with does have the extensions on.

What the guy wants is like a blog-type thing. I have the submission page for him to post his blog, etc...

Now, for the problem...
How can the info that he posted be directed to show up in a totally different page? This is what is in his coding now...for the results page...

<!--webbot bot="FormInsertHere" -->

Any suggestions??

If you cannot utitlize the Frontpage Server Extensions - you will need to use some type of server side language (ASP, .NET, PHP)

For some information on Frontpage Forms: FrontPageForms.com Home Page

It could be that the extensions have got corrupted if you've ftp'd rather than published if the forms were working before but aren't now. Try reinstalling the extensions or get your hosts to.

FP forms are rather basic though and a little tempramental.

It's not essential to know server side languages though for form submission. There are plenty of form submission scripts around - some free and some paid. Try somewhere like Hotscripts.com or Dynamic Drive.

Check also with your hosting company. Most will have the source code already for you that is also compatible with the server

Don't think Dynamic Drive will help you. You need a form processor not scripts to work with the form layout.

Try hotscripts.com or your host as Corey says.
