OK there is $20 in it for the winner. Monday morning is closing. Can you build something that sucks considerable less or even attractive Logo for this document library system.

This is the one that people aren't thrilled about. I rather liked it.

How do you get that clairty on an image of that size at 72dpi? Minimising little floppy disk pics like you have there normally results in a vaguely square blob on my images.

I like it, I want to start my own File Master Library site now [:D]

womble -> RE: Logo Contest (12/10/2005 10:03:20)

The original image of the disks was 187x185. Just resized it in PSP to around 50 x 50 with resample using 'pixel resize' and pasted it in. I think the original was a wmf vector clipart file from a CD-ROM collection of images I have.

It doesn't always work like that. Sometimes I try and resize things downwards and end up with a blobby mess. I usually just play about with the various options until I get something vaguelly recognisable. [:D]

/slaps Golfer

(and don't think you'll be getting any more Minstrel Surprise!)

[:@]

Rocket Boy -> RE: Logo Contest (12/10/2005 14:22:40)

Minstrels.. again.. I am going to have to go and buy a packet...

Thanks Womble.. For the explanation.. One of my fave tricks is to use 150dpi. I know that screens don't go that high as a general rule but the images still displays reasonably well, often better than the same sized image at 72dpi and especially if u need to use 8pt font or lower.

It works for me anyway [:)]

Darkside -> RE: Logo Contest (12/10/2005 14:23:41)

Can i have some i like the sound of Minstrel Surprise!

I didn't have any probs with the pics, it was the text that took a while - I forgot I'd still got the stroke width set high from something else and wondered why the text kept coming out all blobby. [:D]
