Several domains, one hosting account - 12/11/2005 19:48:05
Does anyone know oh a hosting company that allows to have three or more domains in the same hosting plan?

I need to test CSS and sites I am creating with notepad but my current host (Yahoo) is set in a way that I can only use Frontpage (extensions) and I can't have more than one domain within the same account (or can I?)

Having more than one domain with a host shouldn't be a problem. All my current domains are with the same host. I have separate logins, ftp login etc. for each domain, but one billing and support account.

Many hosts have a 'multi site' hosting plan, or a reseller hosting plan. Not sure about Yahoo though - I've had no experience with them.

Lovely Diva

you are always there no matter how dumb my questions might be. Thank you.

May I ask inquire a little further? Would you suggest a host for me? I am considering selling hosting to my customers. Not because I wish to make more money but mainly due to the following reason: I must go to their place of business so they purchase their own hosting with their credit card. Very few customers will allow me to use their credit card. I figured if I sell them the hosting I can upload their sites without having to trouble them and it will also save me some driving time.

I wish to start this gradually, though. I want to purchase some hosting space that allows me to host maybe 3 or 4 doamins and see how it works out.

Can you think of any such place?

hove you ever tried browsercam?

"There are no dumb questions, only the ones that aren't asked" (misquoting someone around here's sig - can't remember whose off hand :))

Whereabouts are you? I know the host i use here in the UK has a reseller plan Site HQ - not sure how the billing works though. Thomas here on OutFront does hosting, used by a number of OF members including the infamous Golfer, who's very happy with the service. There's a link up on the left hand side of the page near the top.

Not quite sure how clients paying themselves by credit card works. I'm sure there are hosts that allow you to do that, or you could pay then bill your clients.

Anyhoo, it's rather late here and I'd better be off to bed, but I'm sure someone else'll be along soon. :)

<edit>Nearly forgot - did try Browsercam briefly - excellent service - invaluable if you can't test on all the browsers/OS - if I remember rightly they have 24hr free trial</edit>

1 & 1

starting at £3.99 per month you can put as many domain names in your allocated space as you wish.

Lady Diva & Donkey:

thank you both so much. I greatly appreciate your support and typical English humor. You must forgive me, I'm from Barcelona. Jokes aside, I am really an Anglophile Basque living in the USA.
