Link one table from MS Access to Outlook - 12/11/2005 19:52:16
Hi, I have a question. Can MS Access table link to Outlook? Suppose there are Tom and Sue persons: Sue manage the acc.mdb database file, The database has one table which is called "input", Sue made the form, the form is come from "input" table info. and also Sue made one button to send the specific record to the Tom via outlook, once Sue send out, the mail has created a link, which link can open the document (NOT attached file). Once Tom receive the mail from Sue, Tom will click the link to open the document, and also fill out one signature inside the document, after filled it out, then the signature will automatically populate in the specific field of the "input" table in the acc.mdb database file. Can MS Access and Outlook do above situation? Please let me know, thanks a lot.

Yes, you can do this. I'm short on time right now, so I'll try to give a few quick tips to help you get going.- Press F1, while in Access, to open the MS Access Help tool. Type in "Send a data access page as the body of an e-mail message" in the keywords under the "Index" tab. This will coach you through the process.
- Although I just created a data access page then right-mouse-clicked on it and selected to "Send To" / "Mail Recipient" (not as an attachment).
- Done. That's it. It's that easy.
- Whoops! But nothing can be that easy. Of course, this brings into play security issues.
- Obviously, you will want to limit the access (security) of the data access page you are mailing.
- You will also proabably have Outlook issues, as most Administrators have Active-X turned off and even if they allow it then they probably have working across domains turned off.
- The recipient may be able to turn them back on by going to the Tools / Options / Security / Zone Settings / and so on. I'd suggest you get your Outlook Administrator's help on this.
Have fun, Andrew
